Weekly (re-)discover (Music Finds #37)

“Music Finds” is a series with new posts here on the blog each Wednesday. The concept is as follows:
As I listen to a lot of music, I from time to time finds a piece that sticks out, sometimes because it’s quirky, mixed two very unlikely genres, unlikely instruments, or just damn right having an awesome sound. Expect any kind of genre to appear here. These songs is what I will be sharing with you in these posts called “Music Finds”
But really it’s mostly a segment about some of my most played songs!”

Oh what a week for new music – let’s get right to it!
First out is a rediscovery, as I just recently found out that the music of Miriam Yeung (楊千嬅) is available on Spotify (yet again thanks to the Weekly Discovery-feature, haha).
My favorite of hers; 野孩子

Another classic, but this time in the suit of a Visual Kei-band names Diaura. It feels like ages ago that I last heard them, but they sound just as good as I remember!

DIAURAInfinite

Lastly, one of my most played songs of this week is far from new.. I’ve always been biased towards “hide your face”, but right now I find myself leaning in more on the “PSYENCE”-tracks.  If you haven’t checked hide out before, now’s the time!

    Miriam Yeung

This is almost melancholic in style but with a loving respect. If that makes any sense what so ever. That weekly discover feature, either gives you candy or songs you already know and dislike. There seems to be no in-between for me. It’s a nice and I enjoy that Chinese language melody for a change. Not saying it is better just different and that is fun.
They say I’m a wild child, I say I’m me nothing more and nothing less. I’m not one for rules that is true, I use guidelines. It is a mind trick but it works.

Not that I mind for one moment being your wild child.
And one should always Google things. Oh, what an incredibly cute and romantic story! I love mischievous happy endings.

    Diaura!

Trust you to put that song among your finds. Talk about being happy I met you! Been too long since I had some Diaura in my ear. As always the medicine is closer than I imagined. I like this song very much. And I do watch live videos of them on YT at times. Old times. The good kind of. Writing music too. Funny how much goes into a song. Little bits of you scattered into the melodies. And the mere suggestion of that old relit path you thought you lost.

    And hide

Yeah old… stupid stupid thoughts of mine come. Which has precious little to do with the actual music. Needed a bit of time for therapy. I think that’s because I don’t take any of it lightly. In the end malicious things will damage themselves pretending. We’re all damaged in some way, but we do choose what to do with that. No excuses.

Damaged can be pretty as well as destructive. Me, I like to think I can take the pain and the damage and learn from it and form it into something else. Something new. Like writing songs about it. And I have to admit I get totally fascinated by hide’s stage presence. He is much harder to watch live videos of if you plan to do something else as well.

And then there’s always that bit of you, entwined. What can I say, perfectly married misery.
